BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on Monday 5th January 2026, Staunton Lane, Whitchurch shall be closed to all traffic, in the interests of public safety, to enable Bristol Water to repair a burst water main. The road will be closed at Staunton Lane, Whitchurch from a point outside the property known as August House 1, Staunton Lane, but the closure shall not apply to any vehicle associated with the works.
Alternative Route: Staunton Lane (remainder) – A37 – B3119 West Town Lane – Sturminster Road – Craydon Road – Stockwood Road – Stockwood Lane – Staunton Lane – Vice versa. The closure and diversion will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
These works will commence on Monday 5th January 2026 and the road closure is anticipated to be required for 3 days. This Notice will have a maximum duration of 7 days.
