Whitchurch Village Fete’s 40th Birthday!

Make a note now of the date of the 2017 Whitchurch Village Fete weekend,
held in Greensmore Field (alongside the A37 for those who don’t know)
over the August Bank Holiday weekend, 26th – 28th August.
It’s a special one this year, as it’s the Fete’s 40th birthday!

At the Fete on the Monday (Aug 28th), we hope to have 40 dogs in the Dog Show, 40 raffle prizes donated,
a 40-meter dash for 40-year olds as well as a 40-feet fancy dress race for the children – and 40 giant/odd-shaped fruit/veg in the Flower Show in the marquee! – so start growing yours NOW…

It would also be great to have 40 new volunteers to help over the weekend/on the Bank Holiday Monday, and 40 stalls at the Car Boot Sale on the Sunday (Aug 27th).

There will also be an event in the marquee on the Saturday evening (Aug 26th) tbc.

If you’d like to help , or have a stall on the Monday, please email
whitchurchvillagefete@hotmail.co.uk
for more info or a booking form,
or phone Ashton on 01275 832148.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday

queen 90th

Whitchurch Village again played its part by participating in this extraordinary event. Our beacon was one of about a
thousand up and down the country which was lit to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

A big thankyou to all the volunteers who made this possible, especially the children from Whitchurch Village Primary School,
who came along to sing some appropriate songs for the occasion, together with their teachers, parents and helpers.

The beacon was lit, to the singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ and a celebratory drink enjoyed by around 70 people in attendance.

Whitchurch Village Neighbourhood Plan

The Neighbourhood Plan will play a very important part in the way
Whitchurch Village will be shaped over the next few years.

The last open evening was a great success, and provided a good
platform to start off the process. We aim to have a further meeting in
April, currently scheduled for 21st April.

We really do need YOUR help to progress the Plan, and are seeking
volunteers urgently. We are looking for anyone who would be able to
contribute a little bit of time & enthusiasm to help a small team of
local people who are looking to bring the Plan together.
